"A great place to stop for coffee and pastries"
Artiques is a new kind of coffee stop... it's a coffee bar. Not a sit-down joint, it's a pick up a brew and peruse kind of place. The coffee bar is part of an antique store filled with modern and period paintings, furniture, signs and more. Kind of gives it an authentic historical Canandaigua feel plus it has good Finger Lakes Coffee Roaster selections. The owner, Cindy and her family and friends, have also stocked the coffee area with old time candies, tea cakes, marzipan cookies and brownies. There are some places to sit outside and watch the "tout" Canandaigua rumble by. Artiques has a nice, gritty city feel to it. There are several free wifi nodes in the area along with the free city wifi, so a connected coffee drinker has some good possibilities. Try it out, especially on Saturday mornings. Artiques opens early (7:30 AM!) - grab a brew, talk to friends and then head down to the Farmers' Market that opens at 8 AM or so. Very lovely vibe.
