Frederick Gassman grew up in the Finger Lakes region of New York and his work is directly inspired by an intimate understanding of the flora and fauna of his beloved New York. As a shy young boy he was moved by the solitary habits and siren calls of owls who made their yearly pilgrimage past his boyhood home. Each piece is directly inspired by these experiences.
Care of Copper
Copper has "A Soul", that is it will respond to touch and the environment over it's lifetime. Dusting or the use of a damp cloth with just clean water and then drying completely is all that should be necessary for cleaning. Please do not use chemicals or any abrasive cleaners, they will irrevocably damage the patina. Acidic fruits and foods may also alter the finish so a dry cloth placed in the bowl before placing fruit in the bowl is advisable.
