Canandaigua Artwalk 2009 - Downtown Canandaigua hosted its annual Artwalk on June 26, 2009, a day filled with activities ranging from art exhibits and demonstrations, silent auctions to raise money for charity and live music and dance performances at the Canandaigua Commons.  ARTIQUES Heirlooms & Art, along with eleven local downtown merchants hosted various artists who displayed their artwork and were available to meet with the public. Naturally refreshments and delicious treats were available to everyone all along the way!

We at ARTIQUES Heirlooms & Art were proud to feature the work of Ellen Fjermedal. Ellen is a master at Rosemaling which is a traditional form of Norwegian Folk Art. She is also an expert painter of landscapes, cityscapes and still lifes. Her portrait of the Twin Towers, titled September 10, is currently on display at the Executive Offices of the NY/NJ Port Authority and will grace the lobby of the new memorial upon its completion. Even though the Artwalk has come and gone for this year, we will continue to make Ellen's work available for exhibit and purchase at our store and through our website.

We also hosted the musical talents of Duncan Walls, Fran Carey and Will Gelder who provided an array of acoustic numbers performing blues, country, rock and old-time numbers. Folks had such fun shopping our store while hearing such great music!
